Agia Varvara beach is a natural continuation of Marathias beach to the south. It is also known with the name Malta. It is composed of fine, golden sand and clean, shallow waters. In Agia Varvara beach you can rent parasols and deck-chairs, you can engage in sea sports, you can drink your coffee at the bars on the beach and you can taste local specialties at the restaurants and taverns of the region. It is named after the chapel of Agios Varvaros which is located on high ground above the road towards this specific beach. Agia Varvara beach is a very long beach where, even in the busy touristy months, you will find lots of space and more isolated spots to enjoy your swim in tranquility. The nearest village to this beach is Perivoli, with its traditional architecture and its small fishing port, at a distance of about 3 kilometers. The southern section of Agia Varvara beach is called Megas Choros and it is an entirely virgin and secluded part which you can reach either by a long walk along the shore or by jeep through a dirt road from the village of Vitalades .
