Kanoula beach is the most southern beach in Corfu on the side of the Adriatic Sea. It is a large unorganized beach with no tourism infrastructure therefore it is necessary to be equipped with necessities before you visit it. Access to Kanoula is relatively difficult and is possible only if you possess a jeep. You will find the beach if you proceed on the road along the coast from Ai Gordis of the South. Kanoula is a virgin region which has become an attraction for nature lovers. This is due to the cleanliness of the waters and the texture of the sand which is quite solid. The closest village to Kanoula is Spartera where, you will not find shops as it is a rural village. But, at a distance of 3 kilometers is located Kavos, one of the most visited, touristy places of the island where, you will find many shops: mini markets, coffee shops, taverns, car rental and bike and of course many lodgings for the tourists.

One of the most impressive beaches on the island is Issos, a vast, virgin area with golden sand and huge dunes, elements which have identified the beach as « the Sahara of Corfu». Besides this, Issos is situated on a prime location, in front of Lake Korission which is the most important wetland on the island. From the northern part of the beach begins the famous cedar forest, on a narrow strip of land between the lake and the sea which ends up to the nearby Chalikounas beach. On Issos beach with its shallow, clean waters you will find parasols and deck-chairs in front of the only beach bar on this endless sandy beach. The whole area is preserved (Natura 2000), therefore you will not find any infrastructure. You can find restaurants only in the nearby settlement of Agios Georgios in Argirades. Issos is a beach you must visit. Even better, we suggest you stay until late and enjoy a unique sunset above the dunes.

Gialiskari is a small, wide beach, without a breath of wind situated on verdant land with pine-trees stretching up to the coast and offering plenty of shade to the bathers. It is the most peaceful, compared to the noisy nearby beaches, Glyfada and Kontogialos as there, are only two taverns in Gialiskari. As soon as you get to the beach, you will see on your right the organized shore with parasols and deck-chairs while on your left the shore is rocky with a peculiar pier where you can sit and sunbathe. Gialiskari is a beach, well protected by the winds but even when waves are formed, the sandy sea bed and shallow waters do not disturb the swimmers. In Gialiskari you can enjoy swimming with no noise and no rush. As you enjoy the sun you can admire the view of the rocks rising in the middle of the open sea. You can reach Gialiskari if you follow the road from Sinarades and it is at a distance of 15 kilometers from the city of Corfu.

Glyfada beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the island, very popular mainly among the young people due to its many beach bars which are found on the sandy shore. Glyfada beach may be a medium-sized beach in length but it is very wide, covered with very fine, golden sand. High hills, full of olive and pine trees, which «embrace» this bay, are located at the foot of the hill Pelekas at a distance of 16 kilometers from the center of the city. The sea bed in Glyfada beach is sandy and its blue waters do not deepen abruptly, this is why it is suitable for families with small children. In Glyfada beach, which is awarded with the Blue Flag, you will find parasols and deck-chairs for hire, showers, washrooms and vestiaries. You can rent boats, canoes and pedalos while you can engage in various sea sports. There is also a beach volleyball court. Multiple restaurants and snack bars can be found on Glyfada beach. Hotels and smaller touristy lodgings can be found on the hill in all the settlement of Glyfada as well as on the beach. If you prefer more tranquility, the southern end of Glyfada beach is more isolated. You will easily reach Glyfada beach by car following the relevant signs. There is a spacious parking lot where you pay but, you can also find free space. During the summer, buses (KTEL) run frequently from the city to this much frequented beach.
