Kouloura beach

Facing one of the most photographed harbors of the Corfu countryside, the small pebbly Kouloura beach is nearly secluded, situated on the left of the picturesque village of Kouloura. The scenery on this beach is enchanting. Tall cypress trees which nearly reach the sea, offer shade to the bathers who chose to swim in its turquoise waters. Some anchored boats, located in the center of the beach, synthesize the scene on this magnificent landscape. The waters are crystal clear but, you have to be careful if you have small children as they deepen abruptly. Kouloura beach is completely unorganized without taverns and coffee shops. The only thing you will find there are some deck-chairs which you can rent for a small price. On the small harbor of the village there is only one fish tavern and if you would like a greater variety you could head on to the adjacent Kalami which is located less than a kilometer away. The beauty of this picturesque bay can be admired from above, from the road that leads to Kouloura beach and of course you can stop on the edge of the road to take pictures.

Canal d’amour beach

The Channel of Love also known as Canal d’amour is probably the most famous and most special beach on the island. It is situated between the villages Sidari and Peroulades, on the northern coasts of the island at a distance of about 32 kilometers from the city of Corfu. The Channel of Love is a natural masterpiece, perhaps the only one in the Mediterranean. It is an opening created by the corrosive effect of the water and the air above the cliff made of sandstone. With each year that passes, the continuous effects of the elements of nature change the natural environment of the Channel of Love creating in some parts canals with turquoise waters and in other parts small caves and bights. The beach that has been formed in the channel of love is small. Because of this you will find many bathers who have placed their towels on the rocks on the right and the left sides of the beach. Every summer thousands of tourists visit the Channel of Love therefore it is wise to get there early in the morning in order to find some space and you must also be very patient because it is very crowded. Don’t forget to explore the caves with a mask which extend across the Channel. The naming of Channel of Love comes from the tradition that all couples swimming there remain in love forever. Access to the Channel of Love is easy, by car you can get very close to the beach.

Kaminaki beach

Although it is beautiful, Kaminaki beach is one of the least known in the island and because of this, it is never too crowded. It is a small beach, covered with white pebbles in and out of the water, with turquoise waters which remain warm long after the summer. The verdant slopes, which surround it, reach up to the sea and the few, traditional, stone houses ideally complement the unique landscape. Kaminaki beach is equipped with deck-chairs and parasols. You can engage in sea sports and you can also rent a boat. Do not forget to explore with a mask its wonderful sea bed where, you will see a great variety of small fish and octopuses. In Kaminaki there is only one tavern next to the beach and one more, by the road with a wonderful view of the whole region. Kaminaki beach is located right after Nissaki beach, in the north but, its accessibility is quite difficult as the road which leads to the beach is abrupt with many bends.
