Almyros is a large sandy beach, known for its shallow waters and is an extension to the west of the cosmopolitan beach Acharavi. In the center of Almyros there, are hotels and bars and it is where all the action takes place. At the ends of the region you can find more secluded parts and serenity in order to enjoy a swim and also the wonderful view with the mountains of Albania on your right. In Almyros you will also find deck-chairs and parasols, which you can rent, and you can also find some very fine taverns which offer fish and the specialties of the island. Even though it is a relatively quiet beach, quite often huge waves may emerge so you must be extremely careful if you are not a good swimmer. Near Almyros is situated the protected wetland of Antiniotis Lagoon where after a swim, you can enjoy a stroll and admire its natural beauty. That is where you can also find the lovely beach of Agios Spyridonas.Almyros is approximately 35 kilometers from the city of Corfu and is easily accessible by car.
