Very close to the center of Chania is the beach Chrisi Akti. It essentially consists of two sandy beaches, which are separated by a small hill. The westernmost is the main beach, which is theone called Chrisi Akti, while the eastern one is called Aptera. You can reach it either by urban bus, or by foot as the distance from the west of the city of Chania is just two and a half miles. Chrisi Akti is very close to the settlement of the Agioi Apostoloi and is very well organized. There you will find parasols, showers, cafeterias, taverns, a lifeguard, and a mini-market. The fans of sports will have the opportunity to enjoy water sports. Chrisi Akti has fine golden sand and shallow waters, so it is ideal for families with young children. Near the coast, there is a playground. The surrounding area has trees and parks, small groves of pine and eucalyptus trees, wide sidewalks and that is why it is preferred by walkers and cyclists.
